Since promoting to the 1st Division in 1995 the Oberwart Gunners are one of the most successful teams in Austrian Basketball. Even without a National League Championship in the record books yet, there’s a huge basketball hype in the area around Oberwart which goes back to four appearances in the Playoff Finals as well as three Austrian Cup Championships and the historic advance to the knockout round in the Saporta Cup 1998. In the 2007/08 campaign the Gunners again are one of the elite teams in the Austrian League wearing the Assist Line from Spalding.
